The VisiSens™ system combines optical sensor foils with imaging technology. The detector unit consists of a portable handheld microscope, which is USB powered and easy to apply. The fluorescent chemical optical sensor foils are attached to the sample surface and read out non-invasively. 2D visualization of oxygen, pH, or CO2 distributions over time can be performed with microscopic resolution. Heterogeneous, living samples can be examined, while the user is still able to influence experiment conditions during measurement.
The VisiSens™ software allows controlling the image recording process and assists image processing and evaluation. A whole stack of images taken with the VisiSens™ system over time can be watched like a movie, discover time-lapse imaging as a new evaluation tool.
